Sally Byers sewed her first dress at age ten, and never stopped sewing. A few years ago an afternoon workshop with Lynne Bruning on e-textiles added a new and exciting dimension to clothes, and she has been lighting up clothing and hats, both handmade and salvaged, ever since.
In this workshop, participants will be learn how to light up an LED using conductive thread instead of wire for the circuit. They will sew a simple circuit (shape of their choice) with a battery at one end and an LED somewhere in it, and use sticky tape to fasten the battery to the conductive leads. Troubleshooting supplied if the LED doesn't light up; everyone who wants to light up an LED should be able to do so before they leave. Please Note: Participants need to be able to thread a needle and sew a simple line, or have someone with them who can do so. Experience more of Sally Byers at www.threadwitch.com/.
